O’Cebreiro to Triacastela

Day Seventy One. 13.8 Miles, 22.3 Kilometers.

Written on June 29, 2012.

Waking up in O'Cebreiro was well worth the long walk yesterday. We were exactly where we wanted to be! It was a clear morning and we could see the beautiful valley below.

The valley below O'Cebreiro.

It is a cool, clear morning. We walk 2.5 miles to Monumento do Peregrino. There Is a wonderful Pilgrim statue at Alto San Roque.

Monumento do Peregrino and me.

Thomas from Germany walked with us for awhile. We stopped at a bar on the way to Triacastela to have coffee. We had a great visit with him.

Triacastela.

Triacastela, town of the three castles, is nestled in a valley. It is a long downhill walk. The castles have not survived, but Triacastela is a popular Pilgrim stop in modern times.
