Le Puy-en-Velay to Montbonnet

Day 1. 10 miles, 16 kilometers.

As we walked uphill farther and farther from Le Puy the view became more and more beautiful. We walked through farmland and up and down many hills. Each hill offering a beautiful scene. At one point it hailed but not long enough to put on our ponchos. This was a good first day out. We found a wonderful Gite, (hostel) in Montbonnet and will post about it tomorrow.

The photo shown is one of my first views of Montbonnet.

  2. A couple of days ago, I picked up a piece of paper that had the information about your journey. I was so happy when I saw the date and realized that that paper had popped up at just the right time. We will be following your blog and sending supportive thoughts your way. Happy Birthday, Vern. Ron’s birthday was last week. We thought we were adventurous to celebrate by riding our bikes around Angel Island!
Sending much love, Ron and Susan

PS – A great blog site and beautiful photos!
