Vern and I are in Sonoma County visiting friends, family, and to celebrate Jason’s birthday . As we were walking around Spring Lake today it occurred to me that a walking “community”, locally or internationally has a lot in common. There is an acknowledgement of each other. The acknowledgement may be a nod of the head, a smile, or a greeting of some kind. There is also an awareness of being safe, paying attention to where you are and the fact that a jogger, bicyclist, or a faster walker may be trying to pass you. The one difference to walking locally is that dogs are definitely on parade and that is a very cool bonus!
